Martial Arts Accreditation is a nationally recognized process that establishes whether a martial arts instructor is able to provide instruction in a manner that is safe, responsible, and accountable with appropriate levels of understanding as to their legal and community obligations.
There are many so called Instructors in the Martial Arts Industry. The Martial Art Industry is extremely diverse, big and ever expanding.
When an Individual decides to become a Tradesman, he has to commit to 3 to 5 years of schooling and study, depending on the Trade he selects. If after a couple of years, he decides to quit before he has qualified, He probably would still be able to competently do work in his Field, but by State or Australian Accreditation he is not licensed or legally qualified to undertake such work.
The same protocol applies in the Martial Arts Industry.
Under Industry Standards in Victoria, a Martial Arts Instructor is deemed legally qualified when he has achieved:
1: Relevant Instructor Level Grading in his chosen Martial Arts System.
2: Government Accredited Sports Coaching Qualifications
3: Working with Children License (if applicable)
4: Relevant Insurances
When an Individual starts Teaching Martial Arts he/she should proudly display their Qualifications on the Studio wall for all to see.
If you walk into a Doctors, Solicitors or Accountant’s Office, you will always notice an array of Certificates overtly displayed on the wall in his/her Office.
When an Individual rings and inquires about starting Martial Arts Classes, he/she should always ask about the Teachers experience and Qualifications. This will reassure the Person he/she will be participating in a safe, responsible environment that is fully qualified and has years of experience dealing with the Public and People in general.
Parents seeking a suitable Martial Arts Environment for their Children, should and must ask if the Principles Teachers possess the above qualifications, especially working with Children License, to ensure safety and expertise when dealing with their Child.
If an Individual decides to Teach Martial Arts without being fully qualified, he/she maybe very skillful and competent, but, they are
