Roots of Wing Chun China Tour
Since 2006 they have been researching Wing Chun in China.
Greensborough Martial Arts Sifu Garry and Sifu Linda have been researching the “roots of wing chun”.
They wanted to establish time lines and authenticity regarding Wing Chun Kung Fu in China.
Wing Chun Kung Fu in China is predominately a southern Chinese martial art.
There are 7 main wing chun families in China that stem from the legendary Red Boats Opera Troupe.
From 2006 to 2018, the Sifu Garry and Sifu Linda have traveled to China on 10 occasions.
They have visited many historical places around southern and northern China.
Wing Chun schools in Guangzhou, Gulao Village, Shaping, Shunde, Foshan, and Hong Kong.
The Group have recently travelled to the Northern and Southern Shaolin Temples, where Wing Chun originated from.
Sifu Garry and Sifu Linda have also visited wing chun schools outside of China, mainly in Singapore and Taiwan.
During their travels, they have interacted with many Wing Chun Masters and have been privy to meeting Head Abbots at the Shaolin Temples.
In November 2021, the shaolin jee shin wing chun kung fu association will be making their 8th “Roots of Wing Chun” trip to China.
The 2021 trip will land us in Hong Kong first, then make to Heshan County to Shaping and Gulao Village.
From Guangzhou we will travel to the Northern Shaolin Temple in Henen Province.
After the Shaolin Temple the Jee Shin Wing Chun group will travel to Beijing, the Capital of China.
The 8th “Roots of Wing Chun” China Tour will predominately travel to wing chun hot spots meeting Masters and visiting wing chun schools from various lineages.
Guangdong Province in Southern China is the birth place of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Since its inception around the mid 1800’s, it came to Hong Kong after the Communist Revolution in 1949.
