Traditional Weapons in the Jee Shin Wing Chun Kung Fu System are:

6 1/2 Point Dragon Pole – aka Luk Dim Bun Guan.

8 Slash Butterfly Swords – aka Bart Jum Dao.

Sifu Garry and Sifu Linda also teach:

Tai Chi Sword Form.

Single Stick Form.

Point Dragon Pole.

The first Traditional Weapon is the 6 ½ Point Dragon Pole is about 6ft long.

Other Wing Chun Styles have a 3 ½ Point Pole which is about 8 ft long.

There are many different Dragon Pole forms, as well.

When we talk about Pole techniques, we use the suffix “Guan”.

For example; Tan Guan, Bon Guan, Gun Guan, etc.

Butterfly Swords.

The second Traditional Weapon is the Double Short Broad Sword, aka Butterfly Swords.

Butterfly Swords consists of two small wide swords for close combat fighting.

The Swords use a similar principle to empty hand close in fighting.

The suffix for Butterfly Swords is “Dao”

For example; Tan Dao, Bon Dao Quon Dao, etc.

Weapons training are an extension of physical coordination.

When one masters Weaponry, there will be a transference of Chi energy into the Weapon.

This skill is demonstrates Power and then the Body and Weapon become a sing unit.

In Jee Shin Wing Chun, combat and self-defence are a priority in training.

Weapons training is secondary.

In today’s violent society, effective self-defence and combat skills are imperative.

Competitive Weapons Training:

Sifu Garry and Sifu Linda have coached many Tournament Champions in Weaponry.

Since 2000, they have trained State and Australian Champions in;

Dragon Pole form.

Sword Forms.
