Wing Chun Sil Lum Tao Form

Sil Lum Tao is your Master Plan for the Wing Chun Kung Fu System

Sil Lum Tao is the first form in the Wing Chun system.

It incorporates most of the concepts and principles of the wing chun system.

Sil Lum Tao Form is imperative to master because it develops simultaneous coordination of the limbs.

It also cultivates power and chi development.

Effectively, SLT is the Alphabet of the Wing Chun System.

Wing Chun Sil Lum Tao gives you correct position, direction of energy for all your movements.

When using techniques in your Wing Chun system.

It does not matter whether you are using single hand or double handed techniques.

Sil Lum Tao will give you the correct placement of the hands.

When you are unsure of the hand positions with wing chun techniques, just refer to Wing Chun Sil Lum Tao.

This is especially important for beginners when using central line techniques.

Beginners should become very familiar with their Sil Lum Tao hand positions.

This will assist correct placement of body and hands when using two arms in technique.

The correct positions can be confusing for a beginners.

Having an understanding of the Sil Lum Tao will give them a huge advantage.

When advanced students are introduced to new forms.

When training Chum Kieu and Biu Gee, the correct placement is essential.

Once again a student only has to revert back to the Sil Lum Tao.

Then find the positions and apply them to the new Wing Chun Form.

This also applies when being introduced to new, two handed Wing Chun Techniques.

Use your “Alphabet” as a reference for the new techniques.

This will enable you to apply the correct body positions.

An architect will always design a draft of a building, bridge etc, before construction can begin.

The builder will take that blue print and refer to it through every step of the construction.

The same must apply to a Wing Chun practitioner when applying Wing Chun Techniques.

The mind should always think back to the “Plan”, Sil Lum Tao Form.

Use it as a reference to apply correct positioning and placement of hands for successful application.
